Al-Basel Center for Arabian Pure Horses- Syria
Site:
It is located at the steppe borders, about 40 km away from Damascus. Its total area is 160 ha. The center includes stables with a capacity of a more than 150 horses, small farms for horse taming and grass fields
Objective:
Conserve, improve and propagate Arabian pure horse breeds, and disseminate the superior genotypes of the elite horses.
Activities:
- Conserve, increase and improve Arabian horse traits.
- Support Arabian horse breeding by using modern biological techniques for reproduction and breeding such as artificial insemination and embryo transfer.
- Study the food requirements of Arabian horses and prepare health programs for diseases resistance and treatment.
- Provide services for horse breeders by the center’s horses.
- Participate in equestrian sports (horse shows, horse racing and tolerance championships).
