ACSAD\u2019s Basic Tasks<\/span><\/h3>\n

ACSAD conducts researches, studies and training in \"\"the following fields:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    Inventory and evaluate the potentials and characteristics of natural<\/p>\n

    agricultural resources.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Develop and protect natural agricultural resources from degradation and pollution and identify the optimal aspects and alternatives for degraded areas rehabilitation and investment.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • Generate, transfer and utilize agricultural techniques, which are environmentally-appropriate, feasible and socially-accepted, in cooperation with agricultural research and extension centers in Arab countries.<\/li>\n
  • Inventory and evaluate the socio-economic characteristics of the productive areas\u2019 population and identify methods and tools for raising their productive efficiency and livelihood standards.<\/li>\n
  • Sustainable integrated development of certain areas.<\/li>\n
  • Develop the productive efficiency and feeding sources of plant and animal species and breeds<\/li>\n
  • Activate the role and participation of rural women in the agricultural development process.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    \"\"<\/p>\n

      \n
    • Raise the efficiency of Arab technical agricultural staffs in all ACSAD\u2019s fields of work.<\/li>\n
    • Monitor and combat desertification, rehabilitate desertification areas, follow-up the implementation of United Nations International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (UNISDR), alleviate drought impacts and coordinate with Arab countries and organizations in this field.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      ACSAD\u2019s Functional Tasks<\/strong><\/h4>\n

      ACSAD performs the functional tasks of researches and studies and disseminates technical knowledge and skills in the following fields:<\/strong><\/p>\n

      *Conduct extensive tests for the study and research results and new techniques in pilot fields and verify their applicability before disseminating them at a wide-range.<\/p>\n

      *Implement pilot developmental projects based on ACSAD\u2019s research and study results and carry out training programs for the agricultural staffs and technicians who work in the development of arid and semi-arid areas of the Arab World.<\/p>\n

      *Hold scientific meetings for the purpose of disseminating and circulating ACSAD\u2019s expertise in all its fields of work.<\/p>\n

      *Conduct feasibility studies for development projects recommended by study and research programs.\"\"<\/p>\n

      *Provide technical consultation and assistance for Arab countries.<\/p>\n

      * Enhance technical cooperation with Arab and international countries and organizations and exchange expertise.\"\"<\/p>\n

      *Enhance technical cooperation with technical assistance agencies and financing funds and implement mutual projects that exceed the limits of the Arab World.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
