Its total area is around 213 ha. Its climate is hot and dry in summer and cold and rainy in winter. The station is technically run in cooperation between the General Commission for Scientific Agricultural Research (GCSAR) and the Arab Center for the Studies of Arid Zones and Dry Lands (ACSAD). A project on &#8220;Improving Awassi Sheep by Selection Process&#8221; is implemented currently in this station.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 style=\"direction: ltr; text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Objective:<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1220 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/acsad.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/marjkreem_3-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/span><\/h4>\n<p style=\"direction: ltr; text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Improve the productive and reproductive efficiency of Awassi sheep and produce genetically-improved animals to be distributed among research stations in Arab countries and breeders.<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 1.2em; font-weight: 600;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 style=\"direction: ltr; text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Infrastructure:<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"direction: ltr; text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Several flocks of Awassi sheep.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"direction: ltr; text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A reproduction and artificial insemination laboratory which is well-supplied with all the necessary equipment and supplies for semen collection and manipulation processes.<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1217 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/acsad.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/marjkreem_1-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"direction: ltr; text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A feeding laboratory in which fodders are analyzed and feeding mixes, that suit the different physiological stages of sheep flock, are formed.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"direction: ltr; text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Units for animal health, dairy processing and integrated nutritious pressed fodders making. These units are well supplied with the most modern necessary supplies, equipment and tools.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"direction: ltr; text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A unit for biogas production and clean organic fertilizer processing.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"direction: ltr; text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A sheep milking parlour with a capacity of 48 heads at a time.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"direction: ltr; text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">All machinery, equipment and supplies necessary for activities implementation.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"direction: ltr; text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Administrative buildings and a typical training center for 20 trainees.
