New horizons for cooperation between the Syrian Ministry of Agriculture and ACSAD Organization
Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform of the Syrian Arab Republic, Engineer Ahmad Al-Qadiri, discussed with the Director-General of the Arab Center for the Studies of Arid Zones and Drylands (ACSAD) Dr. Nasr Eddin Al-Obaid, the issues of cooperation between the two sides and ways to enhance and develop it.
During the meeting, which took place today in the headquarters of ACSAD Organization in Damascus, the two sides discussed how to open new horizons for cooperation between them in different fields, especially in the fields of developing grain crops varieties, projects to improve palm productivity, and increasing the productivity of livestock breeds), sheep, goats, and camels as well as the Cooperation in the establishment of several dams in many Syrian regions.
The Minister, in his name and the name of the ministry’s staff and the delegation accompanying the senior managers of the Ministry of Agriculture, congratulated Dr. Nasr Eddin Al-Obeid for assuming his new position as Director-General of the ACSAD organization and hoped that the next stage would witness more cooperation and coordination in various fields of concern to both sides.
He praised the important role that ACSAD plays in reaching sustainable Arab agricultural development, noting that it has achieved its progress through its practical scientific applied performance in recent years, the high confidence it has gained, and the distinguished scientific position it reached in all its fields of work.
For his part, Dr. Al-Obaid expressed ACSAD`s appreciation for the support it received from Beloved Syria, confirming its permanent readiness to offer all that can contribute to achieving a sustainable agricultural renaissance in this big Arab country in particular, and in all Arab countries in general.
Dr. Al-Obaid confirmed the Arab Center (ACSAD) organization’s keen to reinforce scientific and technical cooperation with the Ministry, to achieve the optimal use of modern technologies, and apply the sound management of natural resources and the development of the efficiency of Syrian technical cadres to serve sustainable agricultural development in Beloved Syria for every Arab citizen in Arab World.
