A scientific webinar on “ ACSAD’s Achievements in Restoring the Natural Pasture in the Arab Countries.”
A scientific webinar entitled “ACSAD’s Achievements in Restoring the Natural Pasture in the Arab Countries” was held in the Arab Center for the Studies of Arid Zones and Dryland ACSAD via videoconference; in the presence of 50 experts specialized and interested in the field of pasture improvement and management from the Arab countries, the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development, the Agricultural Investment Arab Authority for development, the Union of the Arab Agricultural Engineers, and the United Nation Organization for Food and Agriculture FAO, the Syndicate of the Syrian Agricultural Engineers, as well as other regional organizations.
The holding of this webinar reflects the outstanding success achieved by the Arab Center ACSAD in restoring the natural pasture under its annual plans and as an implementation to its strategy compatible with sustainable development goals. The Director-General of the Arab Center ACSAD, Dr. Nasr Edin Obaid, clarified in a speech during the webinar opening that this webinar highlighted ACSAD’s achievements in restoring natural pasture in the Arab countries. As well as, it complemented the scientific webinar related to the integrated management for natural pasture implemented by ACSAD in March from this year in order to exchange the expertise, scientific knowledge, and modern technologies in restoring pasture as well as water harvesting techniques and its role in the sustainable development for natural pasture in the Arab countries.
Dr. Obaid noted that the ACSAD Organization contributed through its implemented projects to provide all its expertise, knowledge, and technologies for the researchers in the Arab agricultural sector to raise the scientific normality and field expertise for them. In addition, the establishment of gens pools and mother fields for pastoral species valuable with good fodder and high resilience capacity; combating desertification, biodiversity preservation, livestock improvement, land and water management, the untraditional uses of water in the Arab agriculture with what would reflect positively on the Arab agricultural sector.
It is worth being mentioned, a group of Syrian and Arab researchers and experts working in ACSAD presented during the webinar proposals on ACSAD’s achievements and projects in natural pasture survey, restoring degraded rangeland that ACSAD implemented in the Arab countries. they presented the success stories achieved, transferred the technologies that they reached out.
