The Director-General and the FAO representative in Amman / Discussions.
The Director-General of the Arab Center for the Studies of Arid Zones and Drylands ACSAD Organization, Dr. Nasr Edin Obaid, and Dr. Nabil Assaf, the FAO resident representative in the Hashemite Jordanian Kingdom, discussed synergies between the two organizations and the ways to enhance and develop them with what would serve the objectives of the two organizations and implementing the joint projects in the Arab region.
During the meeting done today at FAO`s headquarters in Amman, both parties agreed to enhance the cooperation by implementing water harvesting projects, constructing dams in some chosen areas that are suitable and adapted to climate changes.
Both sides stressed the importance of cooperation in developing and improving the animal wealth, improving and building the national capacities, and training Jordanian technical cadres in these areas.
