The Iraqi Minister of Environment and the ACASD’s Director-General/discussions
His Excellency, the Iraqi Minister of Environment, Dr Jasem Al-Falahi and the Director-General of the Arab Center for the Studies of Arid Zones and Dryland ACSAD have discussed today in Baghdad the issues in the common interest and the cooperation fields, where it possible for the Arab Center ACSAD provide its distinguished experiences.
They also have discussed the issues of climate change, rainfall harvesting, conservation agriculture, combating desertification, limiting land degradation, controlling the sand duns, biogas, and other issues that concern both sides; as the Center’s delegation gave an elaborated presentation on the Center’s activities in these fields.
Dr Obaid expressed the Arab Center’s readiness to set all the ACSAD’s research and applied experiences and potentials to assist the Iraqi Ministry of Environment and develop the cooperation between both sides for the common interest.
In his turn, His Excellency, the Iraqi Minister, praised the Center’s delegation’s presentation and ACSAD’s good reputation and vast experience in various areas, expressing his great appreciation for the ACSAD Organization as it is an Arab house recognized for its scientific experiences and practical research. He also noted the ACSAD’s Director-General’s great initiation in providing complete support for the Ministry.
