The Minister of Education and ACSAD’s Director-General / Discussions

     His Excellency, the Minister of Education and His Excellency, the Director-General of the Arab Centre for the Studies of Arid Zones and Drylands ACSAD, have discussed, today during their meeting in ACSAD’s headquarters, the cooperation between the two sides and the ways to enhance them, entering into the force the scientific-technical convention signed between the two sides, particularly the implementation of the research project “Optimal Management of Grey Water in Agriculture in the Arid and Semi-arid Areas” to study the possibilities of rationalizing and providing water by using Grey Water in agriculture in one of the schools of Rif dimashq governorate; and preparing the encyclopedia of “Camels and their diseases” in the Arab countries within the frame of exchanging the scientifical and technical experiences in the field of building curricula.

     Both sides have agreed to expand the joint actions, including an integrated study and implementing the project of “Eco-Garden” in the National Centre for Distinct belonging to the Ministry of Education to be a scientific core in propagating information to protect the ecosystem and developing research and studies in the plant and animal fields, water resources management, conducting training courses. In addition to the joint coordination in preparing training courses in the water resources management and rainwater harvesting to enable teachers to have the foundational skills in this field. Furthermore, the two sides have discussed professional development cooperation, especially modern technologies, and preparing documentaries on applying rainwater harvesting techniques in dry areas, as well as short documentaries on the most important experiments, research, and the new agricultural machines to view them on the Syrian Educational TV, which contributes to applying sustainable development methods and building positive directions to keep the safety of an environment in its all components.
